Winter showcase brings an early festive feel to Bournemouth International Centre

Lush Cosmetics recently returned to Bournemouth International Centre to launch its range of Winter product lines and festive gifts.

The venue was transformed into an enchanting, winter wonderland. Huge moving platforms with giant presents stacked high, an intriguing up-cycled take on a Christmas tree, a continental market, cosy grotto, and Lush-inspired food design all featured to promote the new range to the hundreds of Lush managers who attended from across the globe.

Bournemouth International Centre is like a second home to us,

says Amanda Taylor, Head of the Travel and Event Team at Lush.

We have a wonderful space to work with and a professional in-house team to support us fully to ensure we maximise the space available and that our event is on brand in every aspect.

Lush’s association with food is inescapable. Its handmade products look and smell like food, are  made in units that resemble large kitchens, are 100% vegetarian, 70% vegan, almost 40% naked and include fresh ingredients.

For the celebration dinner, the venue’s kitchen team, inspired by Lush’s new products Peeping Santa, Snowman Fun and Cinders, used the some of the new product designs to create the event’s desserts.

It was a delight to be challenged, yet again, to build menus and dishes inspired by Lush product design and its commitment to sustainability and a meat-free lifestyle,

says BH Live Group Executive Chef, Stewart Parker.

Replicating the new product lines in dessert format was a great way to reinforce the new range which was well received by diners.

Throughout the day sessions food stations featured fresh, locally sourced products and in the evening the team were back serving festive street food from stalls in a themed German-styled market to complement Lush’s new Winter range.

This would not have been complete without bratwurst and glühwein, says Amanda Taylor. The venues hospitality team and chefs made sure we had both and a whole lot more.

With a predominantly vegetarian audience, one of the most challenging tasks was creating a tasty jumbo hot dog that would work for everyone,

says Stewart Parker.

After days of searching, Yorkshire-based Quorn offered to make an extra 1,000 Quorn Grillbratwurst specifically for the event. They were a sell-out success.

LUSH’s new winter collection will be sold in more than 820 stores worldwide.
