We provide leisure activities for everyone, getting more people, more active, every day.  It’s our mission to get even more people in more places enjoying the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle.

Littledown Centre and Parkland

Ranked by Sport England as one of the UK’s top-performing leisure centres, accredited by the QUEST industry quality scheme and one of the country’s busiest leisure facilities, with over 28,000 weekly visits. Set in 47 acres of parkland, with an adjoining high ropes leisure attraction and artificial training pitches, the centre provides everything to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get active.

Facilities include a 25-metre swimming pool, 17-metre teaching pool, waterslides, splash pool, luxury spa, steam rooms, sauna, spa baths and sanarium. Dry facilities include a large sports hall used for trampolining, badminton, table tennis, football and gymnastics, plus aerobic studios, a spinning studio and an Ofsted-registered crèche.

Pelhams Park Leisure Centre

A community leisure centre with two pools, a sanarium, gym, studios, spin studio, FeelGood Factory and Café. Over 800 people have weekly swimming lessons here, and the centre also offers is a wide and varied fitness class programme for people of all abilities.

Outdoors, the centre has eight floodlit, rubber crumb training pitches, used regularly by soccer leagues, and three tennis courts.

The centre plays an important role in the community with local health groups running fitness programmes and social activities for vulnerable people, individuals with health issues and people on low income.

Mountbatten Leisure Centre

Mountbatten Leisure Centre is Portsmouth’s flagship leisure and event venue with a national-class 50m swimming pool, 150 station gym, sports hall, squash courts, athletics track, football pitches, function suite, and onsite café.

Stokewood Leisure Centre

Stokewood Leisure Centre is a community leisure centre with swimming pool, sauna, aerobics studio, spin studio and gym. The centre is home to local sports clubs for activities including triathlon, water polo, lifeguard training and Kanku Shotokan Karate.

The centre is QUEST-accredited and enjoys excellent working relationships with local community groups, Bournemouth University and local schools.

A popular location for pool parties, swimming lessons with the Bournemouth Swimming Academy and school swimming sessions, the centre attracts an average of over 5,000 users a week.

Queen’s Park

Based in the Queen’s Park area of Bournemouth, the centre features a gym, aerobic studio, spin studio, swimming pool and crèche.

A great choice of over 100 exercise classes a week.

Pyramids Centre

Pyramids is Portsmouth’s largest leisure and entertainment venue. It’s a great place to host a conference or exhibition, awards dinner, wedding reception or birthday party.

There’s always masses to do on site including a gym, fitness studio and spa, plus great water play for families and a three level soft play adventure world filled with mazes, climbing nets and ball pits.

Sir David English Sports Centre

Sir David English Sports Centre is a community sports centre with gym, indoor hall, sauna, steam room and multi-functional studio used for group fitness classes and sports club activities.

Outdoors, it has four tennis courts, and three six-a-side artificial training pitches and eight netball courts popular with local leagues.

It plays a key role in promoting grass roots sports development and works closely with Bournemouth Borough Council, local and neighbouring schools to encourage more people to take part in physical activity.

Corfe Mullen

In 2016 we announced our latest acquisition in Corfe Mullen, East Dorset as part of our strategy to increase the quality of public health, wellbeing and activity centres across the region.

BH Live Active, Corfe Mullen is now open and is a bright, attractive and active community hub.

ALTITUDE High Ropes Adventure

Situated in Littledown Park, ALTITUDE High Ropes Adventure is an outdoor aerial challenge that’s great fun, gets you active and builds confidence. Low Ropes, High Ropes, Zip Wire, Climbing Wall and PowerFan Descender. ALTITUDE is great for kids, families, birthday parties, schools and team building events.

The ALTITUDE High Ropes Adventure course is set at two heights, with low ropes at 5 metres and high ropes at 10 metres for the more daring and adventurous. With extra features to try along the way, like the PowerFan Descender, Zip Wire and Climbing Wall, there’s something for all abilities whether you’re 5 or 95!

Working with health partners, our pioneering programmes enable people living with health issues to experience the benefits of being more active .

Make Your Move

Make Your Move is an activity programme already working to help more than 400 local, inactive people living with long-term health conditions, including musculoskeletal and heart conditions, cancer, diabetes and obesity.

A Sport England lottery grant has been match funded to the programme, operated by BH Live with Bournemouth Borough Council, The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (RBCH) and Active Dorset.

Exercise Referral

Our exercise referral scheme is aimed at people living with a medical condition or injury who are ready to get back into physical activity and are recommended into our leisure centres by their GP.

Discounted exercise activities with professional support and guidance are available for a 12-week period and have already helped thousands of people to be more active.

WALK and Community Classes

WALK is to encourage 200 people living in North Bournemouth to participate in at least 1 x 30 minutes physical activity per week for six months. A free weekly 2km and 5km walk, jog and run event takes place in Turbary Park Common alongside an affordable circuit class 3 x week at Howecroft Community Centre.

Funded and delivered by BH Live supported by Bournemouth Borough Council, Great Run Local, Sporta, Sport England and National Lottery.

CHAIN

CHAIN (Cycling Against Hip Pain) was a pioneering activity and learning programme which assessed the link between regular cycling activity and reduced hip pain or need for hip surgery.

Healthcare and activity providers supported the scheme and included BH Live, The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group, Active Dorset, Bournemouth University and Bournemouth Borough Council.

Cancer Survivorship

The Bournemouth After Cancer Survivorship Programme (BACSUP) is a friendly, specialist-led, eight-week personalised health, fitness and wellbeing programme for people living with breast, colorectal or haematological cancer who want to increase their potential to live life active and well.

Delivered and funded by BH Live following referrals from The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (RBCHFT), Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and supporting medical professionals.

Portsmouth Interaction Service

This service provides activities and support for residents in Portsmouth who are experiencing mental health conditions. Recreational activities including sport and physical activities run across community centres and venues including Eastney Swimming Pool and Mountbatten Leisure Centre.
