Top chef crowned British Sandwich Designer of the Year

BH Live’s Group Executive Head Chef Stewart Parker has been crowned Norseland Mexicana®, Applewood® and Jarlsberg® Category Sandwich Designer of the Year 2017.

Stewart fought off winners from five regional semi-finals to earn the British Sandwich and Food to Go Association’s coveted title in the London final, judged by celebrity chef, Theo Randall.

Theo Randall, Head Judge at the Sandwich Designer of the Year said: “We had an amazing selection of different ingredients and fantastic sandwiches. We saw some really amazing innovation. What I noticed most of all was that we’re going back to the classics. The great thing about the Sammies is that it gives chefs the opportunity to really show and be creative – I think this is a brilliant platform to work on.”

Stewart prepared Hunted Chicken, a take on the classic Hunters Chicken with his own unique additions like Korean BBQ sauce and Panko Breaded Chicken Fillet.

“I am absolutely thrilled, says Stewart Parker, BH Live’s Group Executive Head Chef.

“We’ve been bringing together a lot of these flavours and ingredients into innovative dishes for our corporate and retail clients all across the south and they have been going down a treat. To bring home the winning title and receive such amazing feedback from the esteemed judges too is a great compliment indeed and we are delighted.”

The finalists have all been immortalised in a new recipe book which can be purchased on lovesarnies.com.

BH Live will be introducing the Hunted Chicken across its Terrace Cafés over the coming months so that customers can enjoy the award-winning tang for themselves.
