Party conference returns to Bournemouth

BH Live, the charity that runs Bournemouth International Centre for BCP Council, is delighted to announce that the Liberal Democrats will be returning in 2023 for their Autumn Party Conference.

The announcement follows a competitive bid to host the event. This was led by BH Live, and Business Events Bournemouth (BEB), the town’s dedicated event finding and accommodation service.

The party’s annual event was held in Bournemouth in 2017 and 2019.

The four-day conference, which is one of the main events in the parties’ conference calendar will take place from 23-26 September 2023. 3,000+ delegates are expected to attend.

The agenda is packed full of topical debates on the biggest issues facing Britain today.  This includes:

  • transforming public health
  • investing in schools
  • protecting our environment
  • a decent, affordable home for everyone
  • setting out the stall for the General Election

And so much more, including a sold-out exhibition, 125+ fringe sessions on topical issues, and 95+ training events.

Nick da Costa, Chair Liberal Democrat Conference Committee said, “We are delighted to be returning to Bournemouth International Centre for our Autumn Conference. The team does such a fantastic job looking after our members, parliamentarians, press, and commercial partners, and this conference is a highlight of the Liberal Democrat calendar of events.

“The BIC team also does a great job in collaborating with our conference team to ensure attendees have the best experience possible! Thanks for having us back again.”

Steve Turner, BH Live’s Associate Director of Venues said, “We are delighted to be once more welcoming the Liberal Democrats back to Bournemouth for their Autumn Conference. As well as the formal debates and discussions, the delegates, speakers and exhibitors, all bring welcome economic benefit to the region through business tourism.
