Stokewood gets flying colours

Local residents and visitors to Stokewood Leisure Centre in Bournemouth are getting some of the best facilities and services in the region according to a recent assessment by industry experts.

Sport England’s leading national quality scheme, Quest, is the best-known improvement programme within the leisure industry. Its rigorous assessments challenge even the very best leisure centres in the UK.

Stokewood Leisure Centre, which is operated by BH Live in partnership with BCP Council, has recently completed a two-year process of mystery visits and assessment to continuously develop the overall customer experience.

Particularly commended by the assessors is the team’s professionalism and friendliness, the centre’s recently extended gym and range of activities, its environmental and energy saving schemes, cleanliness and training.

They said,

“This charming and lovely facility has a dedicated and passionate team who are clearly committed in delivering a high quality service for their community.”

BH Live’s exercise referral and Swim England Accredited learn-to-swim programme were also highlighted as well-promoted and popular schemes.

“Stokewood is a thriving community facility and I am proud of the team for achieving this great result,

said BH Live’s divisional general manager, Colette Kiernander.

“In-depth insights, from a customer viewpoint and industry professionals, means we can celebrate where we are performing well and focus on areas where we can do better.”

Quest’s operations director, Caroline Constantine, said:

“Quest Plus is a step up from the entry level Quest and as such it is a more demanding process. By meeting Quest’s high standards, BH Live has shown its commitment to providing quality facilities and service to its customers at Stokewood Leisure Centre. In these tough economic times it is more important than ever that local leisure facilities can demonstrate their value, and Quest helps them do just that.”
