Popular family fun day returns for fifth year

BH Live’s annual Family Fun Day at Littledown Park returns later this month for its fifth consecutive year.

Having welcomed an estimated 30,000 people to date, the community inspired fun day with free admission, has grown from strength to strength. And this year’s event, taking place on Sunday 28 July between 11am and 4pm, promises to be packed full of new activities, entertainment and stalls.

Throughout the day the Lovely Bubbly Show will be performing spellbinding bubble tricks to mesmerise and amaze. The immersive 360° Science Dome is showcasing its underwater adventure, and there will be the chance to get close to Crazy Creatures’ creepy crawlies.

There will be engaging and energetic displays showcasing local sports clubs and groups including gymnastics, taekwondo, singing, dancing, cheerleading and martial arts.

The fun fair is making a welcome return with a great selection of soft play, rides and attractions. Magic shows and stilt walking are set to enthral. An aerial hoop, slack line and tumble run will be located in the mini big top for people to have a go. And an Inflatable Zone and Wipe Out attraction will provide lots of fun.

As well as the great line up of activities, some familiar faces, mascots and well-loved characters will be dropping by to say hello. Look out for Buzz and Woody, PJ Masks, Paw Patrol, Marc the T Rex, LOL Doll Queen Bee and characters from Bournemouth’s Adventure Wonderland.

Minky Moos will also be attending alongside ‘Mary Poppins’, characters from the Greatest Showman, Spider Man and superheroes including Captain America.

Get up and Groove’s DJ Phil will be taking to the main stage and throughout the event will be running competitions for prizes such as show tickets for Milkshake at Bournemouth Pavilion, the Roller Coast Roller Rink at Bournemouth International Centre, gym membership and family swim sessions.

Live music, entertainment and food will be on Littledown Centre’s terrace. There will be a special performance from party band Jukebox 3. And BBQ, wood fired pizzas, hog roast, paella, fish & chips, plus a host of tempting street food including dishes from India, Thailand, and Mexico will be available to purchase.

Stalls selling arts & crafts and artisan products will be set up for people to browse and buy. And ALTITUDE High Ropes Adventure, leisure orienteering, the children’s playpark, paddling pool, Littledown Miniature Railway and Littledown Centre will all be open and running as usual.

BH Live’s family fun day at Littledown Park is sponsored by Wave 105, Castlepoint, Sportmax, Raring2Go, Science Zone, Royston Group, Volvo Cars Poole and Adventure Wonderland.

“Our family fun days are a highlight in our event calendar and we hope this year we will have a bumper turnout,
