Popular Christmas market returns to Littledown

Shoppers are invited to get ready for one of the most anticipated Christmas markets in the region. The event, which is supported by Wave 105, is now in its fourth year. It takes place at Littledown Centre on Sunday 24 November between 11am-4pm.

There will be up to 140 stalls selling handmade artisan crafts, jewellery, fused glass, local preserves, chutneys, award-winning fudge, seasonal cakes, cheeses, games and sustainable homeware and lifestyle produce. As well as decorations, cards, wrapping paper, wreaths, artisan food and hampers there will also be local artists and photographers displaying their work. There’s even gifts for pets from Dorset Doggy and Dorset Cat Shop.

There’s lots for foodies too. Local company Viper Gin will be showcasing its mulled gin and other flavours. The Crafty Cow will be selling hampers containing Lyme Bay (spirits & wines). Langham Winery, From Dorset With Love, Olives Et Al, Cranbourne Chase Cider, The Real Cure Meats, Conker Gin, Thomas J Fudges, Isle of Wight Cheese, Black Cow Vodka and Cheese, Dorset Honey, Dorset Ginger, Jurassic Cottage Foods will be selling their produce too. And the Garlic Farm and Briddlesford Lodge Farm will be joining us with produce from the Isle of Wight.

Sing People Sing will be performing carols, Santa and his elves will be making an appearance and there’ll be children’s entertainment from Jules the Entertainer and Minky Moo’s Elsa, Anna and Olaf.

Noel Brodie and David Ball, who are starring in this year’s pantomime at Bournemouth Pavilion, Aladdin, will also be popping by.

Natalie McMullen, who organises the event, says;

“We really love this event because for us it kicks off the festive season. This year we have lots of new things to see and do too with lots of local, quirky, sustainable and independent traders and seasonal activities.”

Admission to the Christmas market is £1 per adult and 50 pence for children aged between 6-15. Children aged five and under can enter for free.

Parking at the centre is free but spaces are limited.
