Littledown food and music festival set to hit all the right notes

A brand new food and music event launches onto the south’s festival scene later this month. The line-up is packed with delicious food from around the world and live music.

Taking place in Bournemouth at Littledown Park on Sunday 25 June 2017 from 11am-6pm visitors can expect the best of local folk, rock and pop acts, superb street and artisan food from pop-up bars, cafés and restaurants plus a generous sprinkling of stalls selling arts, crafts and local goods.

The street food corner will be offering an exotic world food menu – including tasty treats from the Caribbean, Spain, Thailand, Turkey and Germany plus a hog roast, wood fired pizza, artisan catering, cheeses, Dorset ginger, vegan and artisan cakes and deserts, jams, pickles and chutneys. Artisan Nut Butter, Pieroth Wines, Jurassic Coast Foods, fish and chips, milkshakes, doughnuts, biscotti, candy floss, Riverford Organic, Simply Strawberries and award winning fudge will also feature.

Drop the Anchor, Christchurch’s Artisan Microbrewery, will be there with samples of their delicious ales and gins lovers will be delighted with the Gin bar, serving the locally made Conker brand.

The band line-up consists of The Mother Ukers, a three-piece ukulele band which forges modern classics into timeless wonders of a bygone era, BB3, a party band with an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary hits, and Soul Party Band who will be playing great blend of pop disco, rock, funk and soul.

There’ll be plenty to entertain the kids too with ALTITUDE high ropes adventure, a children’s playpark, paddling pool and the centre’s sport and leisure facilities open for business as usual. Heart FM Angels will be providing free face painting and there will be entertainment in the Kids Zone from Jules the Entertainer.

Our event and festival scene is growing year on year and it just gets better each time, says Colette Kiernander, BH Live’s Divisional General Manager.

“We have already had lots of interest in Littledown’s Food and Music festival and are really looking forward to welcoming everyone and having a smashing day.”

Admission to the festival in the park is free although some activity charges will apply. Walking or cycling to the festival is encouraged and some car parking is available on a first come first served basis. Additional car parking will also be available at Ageas which is adjacent to the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital and next to the Law Courts.
