Public leisure centres, pools, gyms and sports facilities across Bournemouth, Poole and Portsmouth will begin to reopen from Wednesday 2 December 2020.
Facilities include Littledown, Pelhams, Sir David English, Stokewood and Corfe Mullen in Bournemouth & Poole. In Portsmouth it includes Mountbatten, Pyramids, Charter, Portsmouth Tennis Centre and Portsmouth Gymnastics Centre. Swimming, tennis and gymnastics lessons will resume as will exercise classes, football and other sports such as netball and badminton.
BH Live has implemented robust Government-approved Covid-19 response measures which include social distancing, hand sanitising stations, reduced class and gym capacities, enhanced cleaning, and staff training to keep our customers safe and secure. Furthermore, all activities must be booked in advance. Customers (unless exempt or exercising) are asked to wear face coverings when in public communal areas.
“Looking after our physical and mental wellbeing has never been more important in the fight against Covid-19, says Rob Cunningham, BH Live’s Head of Leisure.
“We have put lots of safety measures in place so our customers can visit their local leisure centre with confidence and get back to doing what they love – and we can continue providing the essential health and wellbeing services they rely on.”
Wimbledon Park Sports Centre and Eastney Swimming Pool in Portsmouth remain closed at this time. Queen’s Park in Bournemouth is scheduled to reopen in April 2021.
