Leisure centre food donations support community care programme

BH Live, the social enterprise that operates Portsmouth’s leisure centres and sporting venues in partnership with Portsmouth City Council, has donated surplus food and snacks to HIVE Portsmouth which will be used to support individuals and families across the city.

The donated items, which consists of oat milk, fruit juice, potato products, pulses, crisps, chocolate and snacks has been gathered from Portsmouth Pyramids.

It will be used to supplement food parcels and to bolster the provision of hot meals for some of the city’s most vulnerable residents during the Covid-19 pandemic.

David Christie, BH Live’s Head of Hospitality said:

“We are pleased to continue supporting our local community and we give thanks to our volunteers who have put themselves forward to collect the items and deliver them to the HIVE Portsmouth hub for use across the city.”

The items will be distributed by Hive Portsmouth partners, Pompey in the Community.

  • Pyramids Centre – one of Portsmouth’s entertainment and leisure venues. Overlooking Southsea beach and the Solent it has fun pools, flumes, a wave machine and a three-level soft play facility. There is a gym, weekly group exercise classes and a spa.
