Improvements preserve Bournemouth Pavilion for future generations

Bournemouth Pavilion is one of the South Coast’s best loved theatres and cultural venues. For nearly a century it has remained in constant use and is still the first choice venue for many of the UK’s finest concerts and performances; attracting more than 200,000 visits each year.

It is also home to one of the last remaining Compton Organ’s which has been in situ and delighting audiences since the venue opened in 1929.

Planned works carried out by BH Live and Bournemouth Borough Council, supported by generous restoration fund donations by patrons and local companies, have seen a number of projects complete over the past twelve months.

BH Live has recently restored the venue’s Circle Bar, refurbishing the leatherwork and panelling in its original Art Deco style. New wall artwork and furniture have also added fresh ambience.

And as part of their ongoing maintenance programme, Bournemouth Borough Council’s contractors are currently carrying out stonework repairs and cleaning, repairs to gutters, soffits and fascias and redecoration of windows and doors. This will continue to protect the venue against the elements and significantly improve its external features.
