Earlier this year, BH Live launched a new range of children’s lunch boxes at its Terrace Cafés in Dorset, Hampshire and London.
The range is significantly lower in sugar, salt and fat. The lunch boxes contain five items and products include a choice of sandwich, Burts Lentil Waves, Robinsons Fruit Shoot Juiced, a Hartley’s Jelly Pot, Bear Real Fruit YoYos, a piece of fruit and vegetable batons.
Available at locations including London Aquatics Centre, the boxes have already been a hit with customers. Uptake across the cafés, compared to the previous year, has increased by 30%.
Gareth Kensett, BH Live’s Retail Operations Manager, explained why this change was needed and what it means for customers. He said,
“We serve more than 600,000 customers each year. A lot of those are adults with youngsters who are grabbing something to eat either before or after an activity.
“Annually, we sell circa 12,000 snack boxes so we know they are a popular range. Our customers are however telling us that they want something for their children to eat that is healthier, attractive, quick, tasty, filling, good value but still feels like a treat. The new range meets all of that criteria and more. And from a retail perspective it is also simple to consistently package and deliver.”
The children’s lunch boxes are priced from £3.70 for five different items and are available at:
- Dorset: Littledown Centre, Pelhams Park Leisure Centre and BH Live Active, Corfe Mullen
- Hampshire: Mountbatten Leisure Centre and Portsmouth Pyramids
- London: Fairfield Halls in Croydon, London Aquatics Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre
