Green Party choose Bournemouth for Autumn Conference

The Green Party has confirmed it will hold its Autumn conference at Bournemouth International Centre, 25-28 September 2015. This is the first time the conference has come to Bournemouth, bringing up to 2,000 visitors to the town over four days.

The event, which comes a week after the Liberal Democrat Party Conference, will make full use of the venue’s main halls and hospitality areas, with the plenary in the Windsor Hall, an exhibition in the Solent Hall, and guest hospitality and fringe meetings in private suites, open plan areas and meeting rooms.

Bournemouth is frequently chosen by political parties, trade unions and professional associations for its ability to configure spaces, accommodation and activities to fit many different criteria to host a large scale exhibition and conference, gala dinner, and networking areas. Event organisers can also take advantage of Bournemouth’s outdoor incentive and team building offers such as Altitude High Ropes Adventure at Littledown Park and fitness sessions on Bournemouth beach.

“We are extremely proud that the Green Party has chosen to come to Bournemouth,”

says BH Live Director of Venues Pat Coyne.

“Bournemouth International Centre is a popular venue for major conferences due to its capacity, flexibility and great location. We offer a safe, relaxed and welcoming destination for members to convene, debate and form policies.”

“We’ve experienced unprecedented growth in our numbers during this election year,”

says Louisa Greenbaum, Green Party Conferences and Events Co-ordinator.

“After record attendance at our Spring Conference in Liverpool earlier this year, we are now planning for up to 2,000 members to attend this Autumn. Fortunately, Bournemouth International Centre has more than enough capacity to cope. Apart from its capacity and choice of spaces, the venue is a good choice for us as it has solid environmental credentials reflected in, for example, its impressive energy use management and sustainable catering provision.”

The Green Party Conference is first of a number of major events booked through Business Events Bournemouth, the town’s conference destination marketing, venue finding and delegate accommodation service launched in 2014.
