Residents are invited to get their new year off to an active start – at a bumper, free-to-attend fitness event run by registered charity BH Live.
Taking place inside the Bournemouth International Centre’s (BIC) Solent Hall on Saturday 7 January 2023, BH Live Active’s fitness instructors will be running back-to-back Les Mills fitness classes including GRIT Strength, BodyAttack, Body Jam, Sh’BAM, BARRE, Grit Core and BodyBalance.
The popular event is now in its fifth year, and it is free to attend.
Booking is essential as capacity is limited. Parking in the BIC’s multistorey car park is also free for attendees – spaces are on a first come first served basis and parking tickets are validated at the event.
Rob Cunningham, BH Live’s Associate Director for Leisure said,
“This event always gets the year off to a great start. Our awesome fitness instructors and coaches come together to present the latest Les Mills class routines. There are levels and options for all abilities so anyone can come along and have a go.
“We promise a party atmosphere and encourage people to wear bright colours and bring their glow-in-the-dark accessories. The energy inside the hall will be amazing and it’s a great way to get motivated for the year ahead!”
Rob adds,
“All of the classes showcased at the event will then run across our leisure centres as part of our regular class timetable.”

The event is supported by Active Therapy South who will be there to provide advice around sports massage and chiropractic services.
BH Live operates leisure centres across the region in partnership with BCP Council. As a registered charity, BH Live promotes community health and wellbeing by providing physical activity and cultural opportunities for all.
Local leisure centres and sports facilities run by BH Live include Littledown, Stokewood, Pelhams Park, Sir David English Sports Centre and BH Live Active in Corfe Mullen.

Parking is available at Bournemouth International Centre’s multistory car park and is free for all event attendees. Before leaving the venue, please see one of our customer advisors who will validate your parking ticket.
Toilets are available however there are no shower or changing facilities. Attendees are asked to arrive ready to workout. There is no bag drop – attendees may bring possessions into the hall, but everything is left at own risk.
Flashing lights will be in use during the event.
