Free Christmas Cracker Carol Concert to take place at Bournemouth’s Pavilion Theatre

Registered charity BH Live invites residents to get into the festive spirit with its free annual Christmas Cracker Carol Concert taking place at Bournemouth Pavilion on Monday 18 December at 2:30pm.

The Christmas Cracker event was first staged in 2002 and has since become an annual performance beloved by the local community.

Michael Wooldridge returns this year at the theatre’s Compton Organ. He will be accompanied by local musician Ian Carter at the Steinway Grand Piano, as well as members of the Big Little Theatre School’s Senior Choir.

Visitors will be invited to singalong with carols and participate in what promises to be fantastic festive entertainment.

The free-to-attend event is not ticketed but forms part of BH Live’s community cultural engagement programme. Bournemouth Pavilion is operated by BH Live in partnership with BCP Council. BH Live is a registered charity and social enterprise.

Steve Turner, BH Live’s Associate Director of Venues said;
It is always a pleasure to host the annual Christmas Cracker event. It’s a wonderful opportunity to inspire the local community to come together for a day of festivities and joy. Bournemouth Pavilion has such a revered heritage, and the event is a great occasion to invite others to appreciate the theatre’s long history and its iconic Compton Organ.”

The Compton Organ has been at the heart of the theatre for over 95 years. Regular concerts take place throughout the year.

Donations (optional) will be accepted and are encouraged on the day – raising money for the Pavilion’s Compton Organ Fund to enable continued essential maintenance of the organ to preserve the lifespan of this magnificent historical instrument.
