Next month, free body composition testing will be held at the Littledown Centre to help more individuals evaluate their metabolic health and overall fitness.
Body composition testing uses medically validated seca™ scales to provide an analysis of participants’ muscle mass, bone density and body fat percentage. The results can be used to help individuals understand how they can optimise their strength, endurance and overall athletic performance.
A representative from seca™ will lead participants through the test before discussing their results. The results will also be sent to the participant’s email following the appointment.
The appointments will take place on Monday 9 September 2024, 12pm – 7pm, and Tuesday 10 September 2024, 8am – 12pm. Sessions can be booked online via the Manage My Booking tile at bhliveactive.org.uk/find-an-activity.
Littledown is Bournemouth’s flagship centre and the highest-performing centre in the region in terms of generation social value, a measure that evaluates the impact of sports and leisure facilities on the local community.
In recent years, the centre has been commended by Sport England’s trade body, Right Directions, for its dedication in inspiring more residents across the BCP region to stay active through a varied class timetable and tailored health and wellbeing programmes. The centre’s dedicated exercise referral team is currently encouraging more than 1,000 members with long-term health conditions, illness and injuries to participate in physical activity through 1:1 appointments, group classes, and supported fitness sessions.
Littledown is owned by BCP Council and operated by registered charity and social enterprise BH Live.
On behalf of BH Live, Viv Galpin, Health and Wellbeing Manager, shared;
“We are delighted to have arranged these body composition appointments with seca™ to encourage more people to understand their bodies. By inviting participants to analyse their muscle mass, body fat percentage, and bone density, we hope to encourage more individuals to take the first step in evaluating how they can improve their fitness.”
