First Skipper Expo Int. Bournemouth ships in brisk business

Exhibitors at Skipper Expo Int. Bournemouth 2014 have praised the show for the excellent quality of the visitors and the brisk business enjoyed on the stands.

Sponsored by the National Federation of Fishermen’s Organisations, and held at Bournemouth International Centre 10-11 October 2014, the superb facilities in the exhibition hall were praised by both exhibitors and visitors alike.

A major attraction was the five fishing vessels on display that were able to be accommodated within the Purbeck Hall. Among the vessels was a 10-metre Cougar Cat catamaran from Audacious Marine, the Four Sisters, to be delivered to Shoreham skipper Gary Brownrigg.

Paul Cannon of Audacious Marine said:

“It was a fantastic show and on the second day we even had queue of people wanting to go up the steps to see on board the vessel. The expo has been really good for Audacious Marine and has raised our profile considerably. We have received some good quality enquiries.”

Other companies enjoyed a busy show too. David Ash of Mantsbrite Marine said:

“It was an excellent show and the first day in particular exceeded our expectations. We had a lot of interest in our product range and the quality of the customers visiting our stand was very good.”

The Seafish and RNLI stands were particularly busy with visitors keen to find out more about an exciting initiative to supply fishermen with free personal flotation devices. Seafish also provided gear technology sessions, providing up-to-date advice on gear development, design, performance and efficiency.

Sharon Boyle of show organiser Mara Media said:

“It was a brilliant show and we are really pleased by the feedback from exhibitors and visitors. This show is now firmly established in the fishing industry calendar and we are already working towards organising this year’s event.”

“We were delighted at the strong showing of buyers at this event, which has prompted the show’s return to Bournemouth later this year,” says BH Live Director of Venues, Pat Coyne. He adds,

“Bournemouth International Centre was able to demonstrate its ability to manage large-scale exhibits in the unusual and dynamic setting of the Purbeck Hall. The high, domed ceiling provided the perfect backdrop for the five fishing vessels shipped in for the show.”

The Skipper Expo Int. Bournemouth will be back at Bournemouth International Centre on 30-31 October 2015.
