Family fun day gets more people active at Pelhams Park

BH Live is hosting a family fun day at Pelhams Park Leisure Centre on Saturday 26 August from 10am-4pm.

Activities include an inflatable bouncer and half price pay and play tennis courts with free racquet hire. Play Football is organising a charity tournament with proceeds donated to support Terrace Tales – a series of free storytelling, movement and sound sessions for underprivileged 0-6 year olds.

Inside the centre, visitors can enjoy a swim for £1 each, under-fives can swim for free when accompanied by a paying adult and a new soft play area will be open with sessions costing £1 per child.

Customers can pick up a free five-day guest pass to use the centre’s gym, pool, group exercise classes and arrange a free trial in its FeelGood Factory.

Representatives from Kinson North Safer Neighbourhood Team will be there too and Dorset and Wiltshire Service will be bringing along a fire engine for youngsters to learn about fire safety.

Barbecued food will be served in the Terrace café and bar with special offers throughout the day.

“Pelhams Park Leisure Centre is a fantastic community hub with so much going on for all ages and abilities, says Centre Manager, Claire Le Feaux.

“We are hoping to encourage even more local people to enjoy the benefits of being more active.”

Visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or take public transport to the event if they can. The centre has a free car park and spaces will be available on a first come first served basis.
