Fairfield Halls to host Public Health Collaboration’s biggest conference yet

Public Health Collaboration, a UK nutrition charity, is holding its biggest conference yet at Fairfield Halls, Croydon later this month.

Dedicated to educating the public on the importance of metabolic health, this year’s Public Health Conference event has been designed to empower and inspire. It will bring together an unprecedented line-up of spectacular international speakers, who are leading the charge globally to spread the metabolic health message.

The speakers will congregate at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls, attracting more than 500 visiting delegates and UK public and health practitioners. Tickets are available to members of the public to attend the event in-person or join via live stream at PHCUK.org/conference.

Fairfield Halls is operated by registered charity and social enterprise BH Live in partnership with Croydon Council.

BH Live’s team has been working closely with Public Health Collaboration for several months during the event’s planning process. BH Live’s chefs have also created a special menu to complement the event programme, offering delegates dishes made using fresh vegetables, meats and grains.

Steve Turner, BH Live’s Director of Venues, shared:
“We are pleased to welcome one of the UK’s most innovative nutrition charities to Fairfield Halls. As well as bringing people into the region, – it’s a fantastic educational opportunity for those who are looking to achieve better health and wellbeing through improved nutrition..”

Sam Feltham, Director of Public Health Collaboration, said:
“It’s very exciting to be bringing this event to the public again, especially as we are seeing more and more people are joining a growing grass-roots revolution to take control of their health. This year we have a fantastic venue in South London and are offering a chance to access the best thinkers in their field, and connect with other people on the same journey.

“Moving away from UPFs (ultra processed food) and towards better health is our chance as a nation to really fix our physical and mental health which in turn reduces the huge burden on the NHS, estimated at 50% of GP appointments and 70% of in-patient bed days.”

The guest lineup boasts Dr Ken Berry from USA, a 20+ year physician who has over 3 million following his ‘Proper Human Diet’, Gary Taubes from USA, an investigative journalist who recently published Rethinking Diabetes, and Professor Ben Bikman from BYU Utah sharing the latest research into the effects of weight loss medication.

Notes to Editors:

Notes from Public Health Collaboration

The importance of metabolic health is becoming increasingly understood by scientists and doctors around the world, who advise that many of the chronic illnesses that account for over 70% of deaths globally (such as many cancers, Alzheimer’s, autoimmune conditions and Type 2 Diabetes), can all be significantly improved, reversed, or completely prevented with dietary changes.

The first step in improving nutrition by reducing ultra-processed foods is a key stride many members of the public are already taking themselves since being highlighted by Dr Chris van Tulleken in his award-winning bestseller Ultra-Processed People. Now the public can discover further steps to take from the world’s best metabolic health experts at the conference.
