Exploria celebrates first birthday with a bounce!

Exploria, a giant play and bounce adventure attraction, at Pyramids in Southsea, is celebrating its first birthday with bumper attendee numbers!

Over the last 12 months, the attraction has seen more than 80,000 local people of all ages and abilities come through its doors. And furthermore, the team at Exploria has hosted over 1,000 birthday parties and celebrations attended by 15,000 children!

The attraction is run by the charitable social enterprise, BH Live, in partnership with Portsmouth City Council.

Peter Leamore, Pyramid’s Manager puts its successful first year and popularity down to the quality and range of activities, and the team who are behind its day-to-day operation.

“With three unique zones featuring play and bounce, plus sensory areas, Exploria has broad appeal. Having fun, playing, jumping, exploring, climbing and making special memories is what we are all about – and there’s an abundance of that at Exploria”, says Peter.

“Over the year, listening to customer feedback has been really important as it helps us continually improve. Looking ahead we are working with our council partners to expand the sensory room which is really popular. And I am particularly pleased to see more inclusive SEND sessions in our weekly timetable so more people can find some Exploria fun to suit their needs.

“There’s going to more fun for the grown-ups too with evening sessions and private party nights launching later this year!

“We are so grateful to all who have visited us over our first year and thank our customers, and partners at Portsmouth City Council, for their continued support.”

Cllr Steve Pitt, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Economic Development said,

“Our ambition, when we invested in the new Exploria play and bounce facility, was to encourage more residents and visitors of all ages to use the Pyramids to get active and have fun, and help to secure its future for a few more years. I’m delighted that a year on families are continuing to make wonderful memories at the Pyramids Centre.”
