Eastney Swimming Pool improvements

Eastney Swimming Pool in Portsmouth is to undergo planned investment to improve the city’s public leisure facilities.

Works at Eastney Swimming Pool will see investment to improve water quality. This will be carried out in the New Year as part of enhancements to Portsmouth City Council owned sport and leisure facilities, operated by BH Live.

From 2-9 January 2018 the pool will be closed whilst works are underway.

During this time public swimming is available at Pyramids, Mountbatten and Charter Community Sports Centre subject to their pool timetables.

The pool is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday 10 January 2018 and the new term of swimming lessons will begin on Saturday 13 January 2018.

The project is part of a rolling programme of improvements that BH Live and the Council have developed to maintain and improve the city’s health and wellbeing services for the benefit of its residents and visitors.

Mike Lyons, BH Live’s Director of Sport and Leisure said. “Eastney is charming pool, steeped in history. These works will have a noticeable impact for its community of users. We are working closely with the Council and our contractors to ensure the improvements are done as swiftly as possible to minimise disruption and are very much looking forward to reopening the improved facility.”
