From the Coronation Street cobbles to the sands of Bournemouth, soap star Calum Lill is set to bring a giant helping of festive fun at this year’s spectacular Bournemouth Pavilion pantomime Jack & the Beanstalk.
Playing the villainous Fleshcreep, packed with a side order of dastardly deeds and mischief, Calum will be heading to the south coast to make his Bournemouth panto debut.
Best known for his role as the Corrie bad boy Joel Deering, Calum has also been in Hollyoaks, Holby City, and Doctors.
Calum said;
“I’m really looking forward to my Christmas Boo’s in Bournemouth, when I bring my dastardly Fleshcreep to the stage. Bring it on!”
Calum joins Bournemouth Pavilion’s favourite funny man Noel Brodie, who is playing Jack’s cheeky comedy sidekick, Simple Simon.
Martin Dodd UK Productions Producer and Managing Director said;
“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Corrie bad boy Calum to the Bournemouth Pavilion pantomime family this year, alongside of course audience favourite Noel Brodie, back for more mayhem, madcap capers and laughs! We can promise you a giant of a pantomime that will leave you full of beans!”
Bournemouth Pavilion is operated by registered charity and social enterprise BH Live in partnership with BCP Council.
Steve Turner, Director of venues for BH Live said;
“Last year nearly 30,000 showgoers came to Bournemouth Pavilion’s pantomime and we hope everyone will join us once more for an unforgettable festive experience.
“We can’t wait to raise the curtain on another magical panto season. It is a highlight in the theatre’s calendar for so many people of all ages. We are thrilled our pantomime producer, UK Productions, has secured another great cast line up for our festive spectacular.”
Anyone wanting to climb the beanstalk to pantoland this season but is worried the experience may be too overwhelming, a relaxed performance Tuesday 17 December 2024 at 10.30am, is a perfect alternative. Packed with just as much panto pazazz and stress-free sparkle, it’s a calmer environment with house lights up, no loud bangs, noises or flashing lights.
Furthermore, there is a captioned performance on Sunday 29 December 2024 at 1pm, where dialogue is displayed on a screen throughout. This performance may benefit, those who are, for example, deaf, hard of hearing, neurodivergent or if their first language is not English.
In addition, school panto performances on Tuesday 10, Thursday 12 and Monday 16 December 2024, are great for pupil rewards, class trips and year group outings, discounts are available with more information online.
So, this festive season, expect a wholesome hero, a punch-packing princess, a feisty fairy, a simple sibling, a witty widow, a slippery servant, a kind-hearted king… and a cow with some beef. Oh… and a very large magical beanstalk, of course!
