BH Live, a registered charity, leisure centre and event venue operator, recently welcomed AvMA’s (Action Against Medical Accidents) 35th Annual Clinic Negligence Conference at Bournemouth International Centre, the South Coast’s largest conferencing and exhibition venue.
The event (held in March) brought the very best medical and legal experts to discuss the latest issues, developments, and policies in clinical negligence and medical law.
As well as providing visiting delegates with a top quality, thought-provoking, learning and networking experience, the success of the conference helped AvMA maintain its position as an essential force in promoting patient safety and justice.
This year’s programme had a key focus on Cancer and Oncology, including addresses from GP and Media Medic, Dr Phillipa Kaye, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, Miss Rashmi Verma, and much more.
A mid-conference dinner commenced with a drink reception and three-course meal prepared by BH Live’s hospitality team in Bournemouth International Centre’s Purbeck Hall. BH Live’s in-house catering team worked closely in collaboration with AvMA to design a delicious dinner menu.
Returning to Bournemouth International Centre for its third time, AvMA’s delegates enjoyed an improved and enhanced experience of the venue thanks to a recent multi-million-pound partnership investment from BCP Council and venue operator BH Live.
In addition to technological advancements, refurbishments completed in the venue’s Purbeck foyer and Purbeck Lounge in October 2025. Enhancements to the Purbeck Foyer included the installation of a living roof, and a modernised entrance complete with brand-new glazing, improved outdoor signage, and bathroom facilities.
The AvMA also used the newly refurbished Purbeck Lounge as a versatile breakout space. Transformed with new sea-facing windows and doors, improved ambience, capacity, and a new modern look and feel, the space capitalised Bournemouth International Centre’s premium location and stunning coastal views for a vibrant and high-focus session.
Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) is managed and operated by registered charity and social enterprise BH Live in partnership with BCP Council.
On behalf of BH Live, Steve Turner, Director of Venues, said;
“We are delighted to have welcomed AvMA back to Bournemouth International Centre for their annual Clinical Negligence Conference. It was a brilliant event, drawing hundreds of the very best medical and legal experts to the South Coast. We hope their delegates had a fantastic time, and that they enjoyed the venue’s improved services and facilities.”
On behalf of AvMA, Ed Maycock, Head of Events, shared;
“We were delighted to have returned to Bournemouth International Centre for a third time, commemorating our 35th annual Clinical Negligence conference with an excellent programme of speakers, exhibitors, and much more.
