Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) hosts Les Mills™ fitness experience

This month, hundreds of local residents, fitness professionals, and Les Mills™ presenters and trainers gathered at Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) for a Les Mills Experience day packed with group fitness classes.

The venue (BIC) regularly hosts its own fitness event days throughout the year, delivered by BH Live Active instructors. But this Les Mills Experience event formed a completely new concept for the venue, arranged and delivered by Les Mills™ national and international trainers.

Les Mills™ is a global leader in group fitness and creator of over 25 programs available in leading fitness facilities around the world. Les Mills™ programmes are delivered worldwide and are enjoyed by millions of people.

Representatives and visitors gathered at BIC on Saturday 14 September 2024 to participate in Les Mills Experience for the first time, a day packed with group routines including BODYPUMP, BODYCOMBAT, and the latest fitness innovation – LES MILLS FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH.

Les Mills Experience events take place every year across major UK towns and cities to connect communities through the power of fitness to encourage more people to stay active in a group setting. This year, similar events have been hosted in Liverpool and London, with one more event to follow in Newport.

BH Live is a registered charity and social enterprise. Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) is owned by BCP Council and operated in partnership with BH Live.

On behalf of BH Live, Steve Turner, Director of Venues shared:

“We’re delighted to have welcomed Les Mills™ Experience to Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) for the first time. It’s fantastic to continue our ongoing partnership with Les Mills™ whose popular programme is delivered across our BH Live Active centres, to bring more large-scale events to Bournemouth.

“With only four towns chosen every year to host this brilliant event, it’s a privilege to have welcomed the Les Mills™ team to Bournemouth. One of BH Live’s charitable aims is to increase community participation in sport and leisure – it’s amazing to have worked with Les Mills to achieve this.”

On behalf of Les Mills™, Martin Franklin, Les Mills CEO – Europe, shared;

“To continue our mission to create a fitter planet, we’re thrilled to have partnered with BH Live to host the third LES MILLS EXPERIENCE event this year at Bournemouth International Centre (BIC). With increased value being placed on wellbeing, many people are deciding to swap attending traditional festivals for live fitness events instead. All our research points towards the conclusion that more people are falling in love with fitness by working out together.

“We gather communities together with a variety of Group Training workouts to choose from. Les Mills Experience is an all-day event delivered by our rockstar presenter team who have spent years mastering their skills. Visitors had a fantastic time working out with us as we also celebrated the 100th release of BODYCOMBAT.”
