BH Live launches fun pool sessions to boost family time and promote wellbeing

BH Live, a registered charity and social enterprise, is set to make a splash in Southampton with the launch of its popular Wet & Wacky fun pool sessions. The aim is to encourage more young people and families to enjoy being active in the water together and grow water confidence.

Launching on Monday 27 October, Wet & Wacky sessions will feature pool inflatables, pool floats, and water toys, creating the ultimate experience for children and families to enjoy.

Sessions will run throughout the year during the school holidays and weekends at BH Live Active sites, The Quays and Bitterne Leisure Centre.

Sessions are included in BH Live Active membership and on a pay-as-you-go basis for £6 per child and £9 per adult. Sessions are bookable up to seven days in advance in the centre, the BH Live Active app or online.

As part of BH Live’s mission to improve community health and wellbeing, Wet & Wacky forms an exciting part of the operator’s ongoing commitment to expanding junior activities across the city’s leisure centres.

On behalf of BH Live, Rob Cunningham, Director of Leisure and Business Development shared;

“We want to bring more fun, movement, and smiles to young people and families across the city. We have been running Wet and Wacky fun pool sessions for nearly 20 years across the south coast – it’s a tried and tested formula packed with fun and it is always so well attended. We see people discover how much fun spending time in the pool can be, and most importantly have a great time with other people.

Whether your little ones already love the pool, or just need some encouragement to get moving a bit more and try a new activity, Wet & Wacky is a great way to get active, make new friends, and enjoy spending time with other in your local leisure centre.

Other half-term activities include Boo Bounce sessions at Bitterne Leisure Centre and Chamberlayne Leisure Centre. With selected sessions available for children aged 18 months-4 years and 5-8 years, it’s the perfect way for juniors to let out some energy by jumping and bouncing around. Enjoy spooky seasonal fun with fancy dress and a Halloween colouring competition too! Book your space online at bhliveactive.org.uk/find-an-activity.

BH Live is a registered charity and social enterprise, on a mission to improve health and wellbeing in the communities they serve across Dorset and Hampshire. In September, BH Live was welcomed into the city as Southampton City Council’s leisure operator to manage its leisure and sports facilities.

Councillor Amanda Barnes-Andrews, Cabinet Member for Children and Learning at Southampton City Council:

“This is a terrific initiative, and we welcome Wet & Wacky in Southampton! These sessions provide an opportunity for children and young people to enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of being active in the water.

“There is something for everyone to enjoy and the sessions encourage children and young people to develop swimming skills and be healthy and happy whilst having fun. If you like the idea of something new, try Wet & Wacky”.
