Bournemouth, UK – BH Live, the South Coast’s leading operator of leisure and event venues, has agreed a long term lease to operate a former Fitness First club as part of its health and wellbeing expansion strategy across the south of England.
BH Live will now operate the centre under the new name BH Live Active, Queen’s Park.
Consisting of a gym, swimming pool, retail catering, fitness studios, sauna, steam room, beauty room and crèche, Queen’s Park will be operated alongside other public leisure centres managed by BH Live. These include Littledown, Stokewood, Sir David English and Pelhams in Bournemouth and Pyramids in Portsmouth.
“This is a really significant development for the local community and anyone interested in a healthier more active lifestyle,
says Peter Gunn, BH Live’s Chief Executive.
“With the great range of facilities and superb location, BH Live Active, Queen’s Park will complement the other venues we operate in the region and greatly boost the town’s provision of health and wellbeing facilities. As well as giving customers more choice, we are also really excited to be welcoming even more leisure professionals into our team.”
Peter Gunn adds;
“We have developed our multi-site membership offer across our Bournemouth venues and plan to introduce this at Queen’s Park in the coming months. We will also be promoting swimming, gym and classes, a ‘learn to swim’ scheme and health and wellbeing programmes to encourage more people of all ages and abilities into physical activity.”
Across the region, BH Live continues to develop and improve its facilities and is considering further acquisition opportunities with announcements anticipated in the near future.
