Young people and families across Southampton can look forward to a fun‑filled February half‑term, with a packed programme of activities taking place at BH Live Active leisure and sports centres.
Operated by BH Live, a registered charity and social enterprise working in partnership with Southampton City Council, BH Live Active has expanded its junior activity programme across its leisure and sports centres to help children of all ages stay active, burn off energy, and enjoy time together throughout the half-term, whatever the weather.
Designed for children aged 8 and over, fitness classes including Family Gym, Junior Gym, and Junior Gym – Cardio encourage an active lifestyle and give families the chance to enjoy fitness together.
Under 8s can also jump, bounce, and tumble in Mega Bounce sessions at BH Live Active, Bitterne. With five fun indoor inflatables and a matted soft play area, it’s the perfect way for little ones to let out their energy on cold and wet February days. Under 5s and SEND sessions will also be running to offer families a more relaxed way to stay and play.
For even more excitement, families can make a splash with additional Wet & Wacky sessions at BH Live Active, Bitterne and in BH Live Active, The Quays’ main pool and learner, a much‑loved pool play experience featuring inflatables, floats, and water toys.
Families can explore BH Live Active’s school holiday timetable to find out what’s happening at their nearest centre.
Free swimming is also available for all under‑5s at BH Live Active pools in Southampton when accompanied by a full‑paying adult or an adult BH Live Active member.
On behalf of BH Live, Bobby Cole, Group Swim & Junior Activities Manager, shared;
“February half‑term is a brilliant opportunity for families to get active together, and we’re excited to offer such a wide range of sessions across our centres. Whether it’s bouncing, splashing, or trying a new class, there’s something for every age and ability. Our aim is to make staying active fun, accessible, and a great way for families to spend time together, whatever the weather.”
Facilities and timetables vary per centre. For full details, visit the BH Live Active app or bhliveactive.org.uk.
Some activities and classes are included as part of BH Live Active’s junior membership (T&Cs apply). More information is available at bhliveactive.org.uk/junior-membership.
