Theatre

A timeless, elegant setting to add a touch of class to presentations and debates. The theatre is a Grade II listed, Art Deco building completed in 1929. It retains all its original features, providing an attractive spacious auditorium and stage.

The theatre features a large stage, with a 44ft proscenium opening and large fly tower. It is equipped with an extensive generic lamp stock. It has a sound system suitable for most stage shows and conferences, plus a large adjustable orchestra pit which can form a thrust area.

There is also a 1929 Compton Concert Pipe Organ and a wide range of dressing room areas available backstage.

Technical Information


Sound

A Bose and Yamaha PA System with Yamaha LS9 Mixer designed for basic sound reinforcement is included and can be upgraded on request. A Sennheiser infra-red amplification system is available for the hearing impaired.

Lighting

The theatre has a very comprehensive generic lighting system with 330 dimmers, Controlled by a MA Lighting Dot 2 lighting console.

Stage

The proscenium stage has a flat, mahogany hardwood floor 13.51 wide and 6.5m high up to the canopy. The stage is 12.33m deep from the back of the curtain and includes an apron and motorised orchestra pit. Standard black box setup includes legs, borders a star cloth and CYC.

Dressing Rooms

There are 17 dressing rooms including basic wardrobe facility, accommodating up to 150 people. Production offices, green room, kitchen and catering facilities are all available.

Our technical, stage and operations teams are here to complement your own and it’s important that they work together from the start — and that our team sees and signs off the final arrangements.
